■Collaboration to pass on the traditional craft of "Aizu-gata" from Kitakata City, Fukushima Prefecture to the next generation "Aizu-gata" refers to dyed paper stencils that were produced in Kitakata, Fukushima Prefecture from the end of the Edo period to the early Showa period and were distributed throughout the Tohoku region. The process of dyeing fabric using stencils to create patterns is called "katazome" (dyed paper stencils), and Kitakata was a production center of dyed paper stencils along with Ise Shirako, Kyoto, and Edo.
While following the traditional designs and techniques preserved in the "Aizu style," the design was created using designs that are easily adapted to modern life, such as the "Akabeko," a popular doll in the Tohoku region.
